A-wing starfighter
Lightweight, wedge-shaped military starfighter, it was
developed secretly duringthe early days of the Rebellion. It has
excellent sensor and communications countermeasures,including a
power jamming package to blind targets before it strikes. Since
thisstarfighter was first introduced, its mission profile has
undergone significant modifications.It has been determined
through trial and error that the high speed craft is better suited
to hit-and-run operations than escort duty.
The A-wing carries two wingmounted pivoting blaster cannons, a
sophisticated targeting computer and sensor array,and light
combat shields. It was the answer to the Empire's newer TIE
fighter models,and two extra large real space power plants and low
total mass make this the fastestcombat starfighter in either
arsenal, beating even the TIE interceptor in pure speedin normal
space.
Admiral Ackbar
Admiral Ackbar is a respected member of the Mon Calamari
species who served asone of Mon Mothma's senior Rebel Alliance
advisors. He was one of themilitary tacticianswho developed the
plans for the attack on the second Death Star. He prefers to
lead important assaults personally, and he was in command aboard
his personal flagship during the Battle of Endor.
Ackbar was a slave under Grand Moff Tarkin where he made a study
of Imperial tactics and defenses. He was released during a
failedattempt to assassinate Tarkin by Rebel agents, and returned
to his home world topursuade his people to join the Alliance.
He is now Commander-in-Chief of theNew Republic's military
forces.
Alderaan
Alderaan was once a shining star during the days of the Old Republic. It was the world of heroes such as Bail Organa, hero of the Clone Wars, and Leia Organa, adopted daughter of Bail, and hero of the rebellion against the Empire. After the horrors of the Clone Wars, the planet adopted a philosophy of peace and banned all weapons. During the increasingly tyrannical New Order, Alderaan leaned more toward the side of the rebellion; it is rumored that the rebellion was started on this pacifist world. Before the planet had a chance to join the rebellion and restore a military, it was destroyed by the hands of the Empire via the Death Star.
AT-AT
The AT-AT 0r all terrain armored transport, is a four legged combat vehicle which serves as a troop transport and an assault craft. Also called the "walker" it provides high-powered support to Imperial ground forces. AT-ATs stand 15 meters tall, have blaster proof bodyarmor, heavy blaster cannons mounted on the head, and looks like an animal gropping around the battlefield. The pilot's station is in the head of the beast, which houses individual stations for the pilot, gunner, and a commanding officer.
AT-ST
The all terrain scout transport, or chicken walker, is lightweight, and built for speed. It moves on 2 legs with a crew of 2 men, and has blaster cannons mounted underneath and to the sides, a concussion grenade launcher, and claws on the feet for cutting through defenses. The chicken walker's build makes it perfect for defensive and reconnaissance, in which it usually provides cover-fire for ground troops and protects the flanks of AT-ATs.
Anakin Skywalker
Slave on the planet Tatooine, Anakin grew up pod-racing for his owner Watto. He was a generous boy and often helped others whenever he could. Anakin showed tramendous force ability, and was therefore the only human able to pod-race. His most prominent force ability lay in machines which he clearly showed in building his own pod. He was rescued by the Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn on a mission to take Queen Amidala of the Naboo to Coruscant. Anakin became a Jedi under the tutilage of Obi-Wan Kenobi, and married Amidala. During the Clone Wars, he fought with Kenobi and Bail Organa, and became a hero. He possessed a higher Midicholorian count than Yoda (don't ask), and he had honed his force ability to near perfection when he was lured to the dark side by the caniving Senator Palpatine. On a remote, volcanic world, Anakin and Kenobi fought, and Anakin apparently fell into a moltin lava pit for some reason or another. Kenobi left, taking Anakin's lightsaber, not realizing that Anakin was still alive. He somehow emerged from the pit, and was forced to dawn the garments of Darth Vader.
Anakin Solo
Anakin is the son of Leia Organa Solo, and Han Solo. He was perhaps given the name to ease Leia's dark feelings for her father, but amazingly, Anakin Solo seems to have the same force talent as Anakin Skywalker.
